Atal Tinkering Lab

With a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, Atal Innovation Mission is establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools across India. The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.

The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) was established in the academic year 2019, supported by a grant of 16 lakhs for its setup and maintenance. Sessions within the ATL are meticulously planned and conducted in a structured manner, often scheduled on Saturdays. From classes 7 to 11, a total of thirty students were chosen based on their enthusiasm for tinkering. These ATL students have actively participated in diverse events such as science exhibitions, ATL marathons, and innovation contests, earning numerous accolades along the way.
